Enough is enough. There has become a major fear mongering epidemic going around social media that says if you are not working 24/7 you have no chance at success. Well now it’s time to set the record straight so that you can enjoy your life.
To all the entrepreneurs, hustlers, doctors, lawyers, that are reading this, understand that you can still binge watch your favorite shows on Saturdays and have your lazy Sundays too. You just need to figure out how to program it all. Do you remember when you were in high school or undergrad? Some weekends you partied your face off and some weekends you were stuck inside working because you had something called priorities!
Once you have your priorities in check, you can start to venture into different things. Here is a list of our priorities that you can choose to follow.
- Health
There is absolutely nothing more important than your health. Regardless of your socioeconomic status, you need to put health above everything else. That includes your physical and mental well being.
- Work
This is the priority that puts the food on the table. You have to accept that no matter how life goes on, your work will take up a large chunk of your life which is why it is necessary for you to choose something that you love to do and not something that you do for the money, your parents or any other reason.
- Friendships, Family, Relationships
Some would put this as #2 over work and that is totally acceptable. It is important for you to keep close ties with your family and friends. We as humans are social creatures, we are meant to connect with one another. The people you surround yourself with will have a drastic impact on your success in work and health.
4. Fun
Yes, fun is a priority! We only have one life, not two. You need to make sure you are living and enjoying your life while on the road to success. Fun can be whatever you want it to be. It can be having a couple of drinks with friends or it can be spending the night in watching Game of Thrones. The choice is yours.
Life is all about keeping your priorities in order. If you are hungry for success and want to become a millionaire or billionaire, it is encouraged for you to improve your health, relationships and fun at the same time. So the next time that you feel guilty about watching 4 episodes on Netflix, ask yourself: “are all my other priorities before this in order?” If the answer is no, then it’s time to finish up reaching your goals for the week. If the answer is yes, then carry on and enjoy the show!
