Interview: Pia Eggimann – Author of Your Life and Nature-Based Coaching
In a leadership culture that often rewards performance over inner coherence, Pia Eggimann offers a grounded alternative: leadership rooted in self-authority and self-acceptance. Based in Zürich, Pia is a coach, leadership trainer, and founder of Positive Coaching GmbH. Her work supports capable and influential women who function well externally while feeling internally fragmented. Rather than helping individuals adapt to misaligned systems, she focuses on restoring inner authority so women can lead their lives and influence the systems they are part of from within.
At the core of her work is the idea that leadership begins where women reclaim authorship over their own lives, becoming conscious authors rather than passive characters in roles, expectations, or systems that no longer fit.
Working across positive psychology, embodiment, nervous system regulation, nature-based coaching, leadership development, and systemic awareness, Pia’s approach is ethical, embodied, and deeply human.
The Origin of Her Work
Pia’s interest in meaning and human inner life began early. As a sensitive and curious child, she started journaling as soon as she could write, driven by a desire to understand the bigger why of life and a curiosity about why she herself and others think, act, and feel the way they do.
Over time, she observed a recurring pattern: development rarely fails due to missing insight. It fails when people disconnect from their inner authority and adapt themselves to expectations, roles, and systems that slowly pull them away from coherence, often later felt as numbness, tension, or a loss of inner orientation in the body.
What she later came to understand is that many women are not failing at life, but living stories that were never consciously authored by them.
While Pia acknowledges her privileges of education, safety, and freedoms, she also sees that women’s authority is not equally welcomed in many contexts. She explores this field not through blame, but through responsibility, curiosity, and embodied understanding.
Professional Journey & Systemic Intelligence
At 18, Pia was already exploring psychology, gender conditioning, and the body, writing her final school thesis on differences in body language between men and women. Although she initially wanted to become a psychologist or therapist, insecurity and external feedback led her to abandon that path for nearly a decade.
In hindsight, this period became an initiation into understanding how easily authority is outsourced, especially by women who are not yet anchored in themselves.
In 2021, Pia experienced a period of depression and anxiety following the birth of her son, a turning point that deepened her commitment to inner work and embodied leadership. Between 2022 and 2025, she invested deeply in her professional development, completing 2.5 years of coaching training, earning the CPCC credential, holding ACC accreditation with the International Coaching Federation, and completing a leadership program in Spain. In 2023, she founded Positive Coaching.
By the age of 36, Pia had worked across hospitality, technology, and coaching, collaborating with organizations across different stages and systems, and founding her own business. This breadth sharpened her systemic intelligence, revealing how environments shape behavior and how what is often labeled as individual struggle is in fact a systemic signal.
Coaching Philosophy & Core Elements
Pia’s work is rooted in the Co-Active Coaching framework, which places being and doing on equal footing. Sustainable transformation, she believes, arises from inner coherence followed by aligned action, not pressure or optimization.
Nature is a central pillar of her practice. Much of her coaching takes place outdoors in nature, where movement and natural environments support nervous system regulation, clarity, and embodied truth. In this space, clients are invited to slow down, reconnect with their inner compass, and consciously rewrite the stories they live by, stepping back into the role of author of their own lives.
At the heart of her work is a clear conviction: women do not need to be empowered. They need to reclaim the authority they already have. Her coaching begins with seeing clients as whole human beings. Emotions are not only explored cognitively, but felt in the body, allowing greater capacity, self-acceptance, and integrity. Over time, clients reconnect with their inner compass and begin leading from clarity rather than compensation.
Final Reflection
Looking ahead, Pia hopes to continue this work for the rest of her life. While one-on-one coaching in nature remains central, working with groups and systems feels increasingly important to her. When individuals reclaim self-authority, systems begin to shift.
She leaves readers with one simple question: What are you longing for?
Because becoming the author of your life often begins with listening to the longings of your heart. If this question resonates, her work offers a space to explore it, slowly, embodied, and without fixing.
