In our younger days, we would go to school, learn from teachers and graduate to the next year. Every year we would feel our mind and bodies grow exponentially. Growth was once an unintentional thing. We would go through life, year by year and just watch ourselves evolve into smarter, bigger, and faster human beings.
Yet, as we become adults, that no longer becomes the case. Formal education finishes, our bodies stop growing, and we begin to grow older but not wiser. Although this may seem unfortunate, there is a true beauty in this change too. During this phase our life, we can shape our minds and bodies into anything we want to become. If you want to become a bodybuilder, you can. If you want to enhance your knowledge of psychology, you can! You can truly be, whatever you wish to be in this world, so long as you are intentional about it.
The 4 Pillars
There are four key pillars of growth: health, wealth, love, and happiness. It is your duty to grow in each of these elements as they will help you evolve through life.
Health
There is nothing more important than your health. Your health is the initial foundation of your entire existence. This includes your mental, physical and emotional health. It is your duty to ensure that these categories of your life are improving daily. Spending time in the gym can improve your physical health while meditation can improve your mental and emotional health.
Wealth
Wealth does not only come from income but also comes from knowledge. As you dive into your career and began to earn an income, it is equally as important to earn in knowledge too. The most effective way to do so is through reading books.
Love
The bond that you share with your friends and family plays a critical role towards determining the future trajectory of your life. You must cherish the moments you spend with your loved ones while also making consistent efforts to serve for those around you.
Happiness
Happiness begins internally before it can be expressed externally. To stay truly happy, you must have a certain code of conduct that you stick to always. By having integrity towards this code of conduct, you will begin to feel fulfilled internally which will ultimately radiate externally.
